Guardian

Nicholi sits on the wet sand. He stares towards the sea. His angelic wings have turn black. He looks up into the heavens from where he had fallen. Nicholi suddenly feels a warm breeze. He sees a beautiful angel. She walks up to him and kneels down.

“My young angel. You are not being punished. You have been given your first mission.”

Nicholi perks.

“You are to save a young woman from her abusive husband. You will remain with her. Fail…and you will remain here forever.”

Nicholi nods.

Rising slowly his black wings suddenly turn into a coat, and clothes.

Together they float along the calm waters. A pillow of sea foam comforts him as she rests her head on his chest. Aria gazes up at her lover. Jasper knows that look. He hated to have to do this to her.

“I don’t want to return.”

“I know, but you have too.”

“I left to escape this path. Why did you have to find me?”

“I was given orders to bring you home.”

“Don’t forget, he has allowed me to leave my human life to be with you in the sea forever.”

“Why did Poseidon have to be my father?”
